Clayton, Dubilier & Rice announced today that it has appointed Marta Benedek as European Director of the Portfolio Company Procurement Program. Ms. Benedek will work with the supply chain and procurement leaders at the Firm’s European portfolio companies to create value through optimized supply chain.
Ms. Benedek joins CD&R after a 20-year career at General Electric, bringing deep expertise in establishing low cost suppliers in emerging regions, strategic negotiations, new product launches and supply chain operations.
“Marta is a highly skilled executive with a record of leading critical supply chain initiatives, enabling more competitive supply options, and rapid product innovation introduction,” said David Novak, CD&R’s Co-President and Head of the Firm’s European business. “It is a great pleasure to welcome Marta as member of our team. At a moment when global supply chains and procurement channels are facing significant challenges, I’m confident that Marta’s skill and experience will add significant value across our European portfolio.”
Most recently Ms. Benedek served as New Product Launch Program Manager at GE Renewable Energy, where she developed and executed the risk mitigation strategy to ensure a successful on time launch of GE’s Haliade-X offshore wind turbine, which is expected to produce 14 megawatts of power per turbine, or enough to support the needs of 16,000 homes. Previously, she led a strategic initiative to build a Supply Chain Center of Excellence in Hungary focused on developing new, low cost suppliers in emerging regions to fuel product cost competitiveness for GE’s $10 billion Onshore Wind business. Ms. Benedek has also held Global Commodity Leader roles in GE Energy where she was responsible for $900 million in annual spend of highly engineered products while delivering 2-5% annual cost out.
“CD&R has established robust capabilities to support supply chain and procurement optimization. I look forward to building on these efforts to help our portfolio companies develop best in class supply chain operations to unlock growth,” said Ms. Benedek. “I am excited to be working closely with CD&R’s investment team and portfolio companies to help navigate an increasingly complex supply chain and procurement environment.”
Ms. Benedek holds a B.S. in Economics and Logistics from University of Foreign Trade (Budapest, Hungary) and an MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Technology and Economics (Budapest, Hungary).
